Hey! Sorry it’s been awhile, but sure enough sure, here’s a blog! Let me tell you an overview of what life here in Mexico has been like:

So when we first got here, we went into three days of solitude. Coming out of that, we proceeded to read the book Exiles and have teachings on that, as well as receiving an adopted Mexican family. My team was adopted into a wonderful family: Selene, Hugo, and their daughter Galelea with a second daughter, America, on the way… and of course we can’t forget about Toby, their chic flado dog.

This is at Myles’ birthday dinner. From the left going clockwise, Hugo, Selene, Myles, Me, Garrett, Rebecca, Erin, and Galelea.
They served us chili soranos; stuffed, breaded, fried jalapenos. They threw some red ones in there that Hugo wouldn’t even eat because they were so hot! Good times.

There’s been many ministries and teachings that have happened in the past two months:

visiting the orphanage,

handing out tracks and food at the hospital as well as praying for people there,
repairing buildings and manual labor,

learning construction,
learning about spiritual disciplines like worship, solitude, and simplicity going out of the book called A Celebration of Disciplines,
learning both sides of biblical arguments by reading Across the Spectrum,

learning about the church from teachings by Jonathan Almanzar and reading his book:
Crabgrass and Oaktrees,
doing ATLs (Ask The Lord),
Learning organic gardening and worm noodling,

feeding people,
etc.

South Africa team working on a 4×8 frame after we learned how to make a basic structured house. After we built it, it was taken to be used as an outhouse for some Mexican I don’t know. Ha. I’m guessing some Mexican pastor for his church. 🙂
Worm noodling by the expert himself: Camp. Basically, you pound a stick into the ground, make it vibrate with a tool of some sorts, and the worms will think it’s a mole and come shooting out of the ground! Then you collect them and use them to compost. Turns out, I guess Mexico doesn’t have moles, so we ended up having to dig the worms up.

There’s been so much that has happened and that is just an overview.
God is doing great things and it’s amazing! I am so excited for the
things that God has yet to do, and will keep you updated 🙂 And there
will be more details about the last two months to come… Soon!
